• Most patients older for 2 reasons
• First, hyperopia is a disease of older patients
• Second, clear lens is indicated in patients with incipient cataract or patients older than 50-55

Preop Spherical Equivalent

• Many more hyperopic patients since more indications for hyperopia with age and amount of hyperopia
• Even the smaller amounts may be for monovision and qualify by amount

• 100% of patients are -1 to +1 for distance with enhancements
• 90% of myopic patients are 20/40 or better, 94% of hyperopic patients
• Amblyopia can be a problem with hyperopic and extreme myopic patients
