- Most patients older for 2 reasons
- First, hyperopia is a disease of older patients
- Second, clear lens is indicated in patients with incipient cataract or
patients older than 50-55

Preop Spherical Equivalent
- Many more hyperopic patients since more indications for hyperopia with age
and amount of hyperopia
- Even the smaller amounts may be for monovision and qualify by amount

Postop
- 100% of patients are -1 to +1 for distance with enhancements
- 90% of myopic patients are 20/40 or better, 94% of hyperopic patients
- Amblyopia can be a problem with hyperopic and extreme myopic patients
