Went in for LASIK consult and found out I had cataracts. I decided to get the upgraded lens. I’m extremely pleased with the results. Dr Malik’s staff is very knowledgeable, they are efficient, courteous, friendly, and all work as a team. I highly recommend Ohio Valley Eye Institute for all your eye care needs. Dr Malik took the time to answer all of my questions.

I CANNOT recommend lasik surgery enough. It is live changing. I just had my annual visit and still see 20/20. I also had the most amazing experience this visit when I met Julie. She was just excellent. I hope she’s there next year at my next appointment!

Having to wait in a waiting room for an hour and a half okay and then go back and be rushed through my visit that first started with the wrong person was a little bit much. I was so nervous by the time I left cuz of how quickly I was looked at. That was for the diabetic doctor but in previous appointment in December the lady that checked me for my optical she was spot on for my glasses but she makes me nervous in there too of the way she darts around. I know these doctors are good but they make me nervous and I’m not a nervous person. For the cost that my insurance gets billed for this for a 10-minute visit… The nurse from Knoxville gets a five-star rating for me. She was the only one that was so nice and took time with me. The nurse that came in for Dr was not very pleasant she was in a hurry also.

Our family appreciates all that Dr. Malitz and his staff do for us. Besides providing us with professional care, they are very nice and involved in our treatment. I do recommend them to everyone. Their office is a pleasure to go to and they strive for excellence. They have also added a Dr Albert and she is a delight also. And Donald is very nice who is new. They are up to date on Covid prevention also.

I love coming here! The staff is very friendly. The tech/assistant/nurse was very kind and courteous. He smelled good too! He was very patient and documented all my concerns. The Dr was very down to earth, friendly, and professional. She addressed all of my concerns and thoroughly checked my eyes. This was a very relaxed and pleasant visit.

For the second time this year I was checked in then somehow overlooked. When I asked if I had been skipped, I was told no they’re getting you back next. Then when I’m in the back I’m told the techs each thought someone else had my chart. So yes I was skipped. Don’t lie. I’m not an idiot. I come specifically every six months because of my current medication, but surprisingly I didn’t need the field visual exam this time. Hmm was it because I was overlooked and you had to hurry me through? I guess at my next check up after ten minutes I’ll start going to the desk to ask if I’m next. I try to give benefit of the doubt because I know people are being seen by others and for various other reasons, but I too am being seen and felt I didn’t get my complete exam.

Dr. Malitz is an excellent ophthalmologist and surgeon. He takes care of our entire family. and we know from experience, we trust him. He is honest and explains everything in layman terms so we always know what to expect. I do recommend him to everyone we meet because he also has a sweet personality and he cares about his patients.

Dr Malitz is an excellent Dr. in our families opinion, he is worth the wait that we have had to endure this past year. Everything had been running smoothly however there is one young lady, while very nice is not yet up to par where her work should be. Because of her, our appointments have lasted around two (2) hours for us. Different appointment times but still 2 hours each. Let me be clear, we trust Dr. Malitz explicity, he is an excellent Dr and surgeon.

I waited way too long in the room for the doctor, almost an hour. True I was waiting for pupils to dialate but an hour is excessive, especially when I could hear the doctor talking to someone and laughing and carrying on for so long as I wait. May be legit but I doubt it.

I have trusted Dr Malitz with my eye are for over 25 years. He performed eyelid surgery that turned out beautiful, no problems! Then about 4 years ago he performed Lasic on both eyes and I now have 20/20 vision, no glasses anymore! I would not allow anyone else to operate on my eyes. Thank you Dr Malitz!

We trust Dr Malitz with our family’s care. He did radial keratotomy for our daughter and she is very pleased with her outcome and it have been around 6 years ago. Our son had to have eye surgery because a muscle was pulling his eye to the right and disrupting his depth perception. I had to have my tear ducts enlarged and now my husband and I are being watched for cataracts. So you see how important Dr Malitz is to us. We appreciate his caring and his intellect.

My original appointment was changed to an earlier date without notifying me. So I made a trip to the office to find out that there was no doctor in the office that day. It is a 25 mile round/trip from my house to the office. I did get a text reminder of the earlier app’t., which I replied to the text that my app’t was not that day. However, the receptionist told me that text does not come back to them so they did not get the info. There should be someway that those replies get back to the office so that these things do not happen.

LASIK…Best decision I ever made for myself! I don’t have to wear glasses or contacts anymore. I’m not searching for my glasses in the middle of the night and I don’t have to worry about irritation from my contacts. I did not think I would be a good candidate for the procedure but I went ahead and scheduled a consultation. I wish I would have had the procedure sooner! Thank you to Dr. Malitz and his staff. Everyone is so helpful and friendly.

I had throbbing eye pain and they were able to get me in quickly. After arriving at the office, I was seen quickly and Dr. Couts figured out what the problem was and addressed all my concerns. What a relief both with my eye both physically with medication and with knowing that all would be well.

The last time I was in, they forgot about me in the exam room and I waited for over 45 minutes. Also, when I first arrived, I wanted to try on glasses. No one was there to help me for over 15 minutes. When someone finally showed, I asked to try on a couple of pairs. They only unlocked one side of the glasses and then left, so I was unable to try on the other pair I was interested in. They never came back, so I didn’t buy any glasses that day.

I have said many times I only want to see Dr. Malitz. I did not know I was going to see this other dr, until the girl did her thing. My eyes were not dilated as Dr. Malitz always does, it was a very poor exam. Do not remember his name but would not want him again.

Everyone was very nice. And was seen quickly. The only thing I was not a fan of was the receptionist asking me to recite my social security number twice in front of everyone sitting in the waiting area. There is a reason that is supposed to be kept confidential. Because of this I will probably not be rescheduling another appointment.

Dr. Malitz did a very good job explaining options to my father and me. The clinic was very busy, but it seemed like everyone was working hard to help the patients. Katie (sp) was the ophthalmic technician that did most of the testing and helped my father. She was amazing; highly professional, helpful, respectful, patient and funny. Thank you.

I chose Dr.Malitz to be my eye Dr. Over a decade ago. Because my friends highly recommended him. I look back over the years and he has proved to be deserving of that praise. he has professionly met my eye needs with loving, kind, considerate care. He has preformed MY LASIK SURGERY+ the top of my EYE LIDS, so I can see without having to hold my head back! PLUS, HE KNOWS WHAT IS NEEDED TO CORRECT EYE PROBLEMS SUCCESSFULLY! PLEASE, PLEASE remove the ficus tree in inner waiting room!!!! It has an incredibly BAD overwhelming odor of plastic!!! I had to sit next to it, bc all other chairs were taken. I thought the smell would permeate my clothes. If people have allergies, I think it could be a real problem. Thanks for listening to my rant! =) And my wait was an hour and 15 from arrival to seeing doctor…just saying.

My original appointment was changed by the office without contacting me until I had to confirm my appointment by text. As soon as an appointment is changed by the office, the patient should be contacted. The appointment was moved to the day of my son’s surgery, so I obviously had to reschedule. My appointment was for 8:40. I was taken back by the tech in a reasonable amount of time. After being dilated, I sat in the dilating room 1hr 10min. Why was the schedule so overbooked? Once I was seen it only took 5min with Dr. Kleumper. The explanation from staff was that there are only 2 rooms dilated patients can be examined in. If this is such a bottleneck, maybe more rooms need to be added.

Wait was much to long, I had a 9:30 appt. got called back soon after that, then went to the dark room😁 waited there 11/2 hrs! Then got called into the room and waited another 20 min for the Dr. I drive an hour one way for the appt. and didn’t plan on spending the whole morning there. I understand that these types of exams and procedures require a lot of time but perhaps a few less patients may also help move things along. I’ve come to accept that my appt. will take approx two hours each time

Exceedingly impressed on my first visit at the efficiency and professionalism of the staff. I was in, tested and scheduled for surgery in 2 hours with an immediate opening. I wish all my office visits were that pleasant from other providers!

Everything was good and as expected. I usually try to get the best of everything and do not settle. I came to Dr. Malitz expecting that I was going to get the best care available for my eyes. I feel that is what I am getting. The issues my eyes are going through are concerning to me and the doctor. The fact is my eyes are creating this issue and I feel it is being addressed as well as can be. I can still see better now without glasses than I ever thought possible.

I have been very satisfied with my experiences here. My last appointment though, I was addressed & tested quickly before sitting in another waiting area for one hour. I feel like I was forgotten about. Dr Malitz gave the rest of his patients to Dr Al. All the other patients were put in a room. Dr AL came & got me himself and put me in a room to do my follow up from my eye surgery. He’s been awesome!

I saw the both Doctors and they were both caring and excellent, explained to me what my condition was and also looked into the swelling I had under my eye and referred I see an ENT or my family doctor for a follow-up. Very nice, down to earth and caring.

appt was for 10:15; got to see actual Dr @12:30 but he was worth the wait! Loved him!!!
The staff was friendly, efficient and professional. Dr. Malitz was abrupt and a bit curt. The entire appointment was rather long, an hour and a half with the Dr. visit itself being only 2-3 minutes. Overall, I would recommend as thorough and complete.
