Most people think that cataract surgery in expensive especially in Las Vegas.  The truth is that the surgery can be as little as $600/eye.  Although in years past the surgical fee was much higher, with changes in insurance compensation the price has come down dramatically.   Virtually every insurance company covers cataract surgery when it is medically necessary.  When covered, the insured patient can expect fees for deductibles and co-pays for the professional and facility fees.   The medications  which can be $200 plus per eye.

If you don’t have insurance the global fee (facility and surgeon) is usually about $4000 per eye.   Financing is available at our center with a down payment the cost can be as little as $1/day/eye.

If you have a large deductible and choose not to use your insurance or don’t have insurance or your insurance will not cover your surgery at your stage of cataracts, you can always pay directly for your surgery.

Depending on the surgeon, surgery center (or hospital), medications prescribed, technique and technology, the total fee can run from $4,000 to over $20,000 per eye.

Some doctors do surgery in a back room in their office to minimize the cost to the patient and to capture the professional and facility fee.

  • and $4995 for a premium lifestyle implant (Restor, Technis Multifocal or Crystalens)

If finances are tight, ask for generic eye drops or samples to minimize this expense.   Without insurance coverage some medications are more expensive than gold at over $200/bottle!
