DURYSTA™ (bimatoprost implant) Costs

Like many new and novel medical therapies, DURYSTA™ (bimatoprost implant) is expensive. The medication is almost $2000/dose for the medication alone. The other fees include the administration which can be about $200 for the physician and if done in a hosptial or ambulatory surgery center another $1000-2000. The medication is currently only approved for a one time use per eye for open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. These expenses are generally covered by your insurance carrier in full or in part and there are programs available that may reduce your out of pocket cost dramatically. Ask a member of our well trained staff to help you determine if the medication is covered by your insurance and discuss with our doctors if you would be a suitable candidate.
