Shingles or Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus is a reactivation of the Chicken Pox virus. The second most common location is around the eye, thus Zoster Ophthalmicus. This can be a devastating disease and lead to loss of vision.
There is a vaccine that is designed to prevent the outbreak. If you were not proactive and are experiencing tingling, a rash and you begin treatment early (withing 72 hours) you may minimize the pain and suffering associated with shingles.
