Dr. Malitz is a board-certified ophthalmologist (eye specialist and surgeon). Dr. Malitz was born in the midwest, graduated in the top 3% of his class from the University of Michigan and was one of a very few selected for admission from out of state to UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Malitz did ophthalmic research and was trained at the UIC Eye Center in Chicago, IL. He practiced in San Pedro, California and the Midwest and took over the Buzard Eye Institute which he renamed the Southwest Eye Institute. He is recognized by his colleagues as providing the highest quality comprehensive care. He participates in teaching programs and offers a comprehensive array of services with a special focus on vision correction surgery (LASIK and C-Lex (clear lens exchange), and advanced cataract surgery). He also has extensive training and expertise in glaucoma treatment and cosmetic eyelid surgery. He is the medical director of the Southwest Eye Institute and Red Rock Surgery Center.
